Directed this Bug Dust spot with Charlyne Yi and Becky Stark!

So Charlyne Yi and Becky Stark are two of my favorite performers.  I’ve been super into their alternative style of comedy and performance for awhile* so it was a bunch of fun to make this spot for their show.  If you are in LA come on through!

*also if you haven’t seen High School Record or Paper Heart you need to check them out IMMEDIATELY.

Frances Ha: I wanna see this.

This could be terrible, but it seems super up my alley.  Great trailer regardless.

How to Follow Strangers Premiere!

This is a photo of the packed Toldi theatre in Budapest where people sat in the aisles to watch the premiere screening of the film I wrote and directed at the Titanic Film Festival!  A great day indeed! Excited for the New York premiere in June…

The idea and end of this video is perfect.

Ilana Glazer is a super star!

So Ilana Glazer, the lead of my feature How to Follow Strangers, and my own personal muse just got Broad City the show she co-created, writes, and stars in picked up to series by Comedy Central.  This is amazing news for the earth because that means more Ilana on screen all the time.  Can’t wait.

Poster for my first feature!

So this lovely poster was designed by the amazingly talented cartoonist Domitille Collardey. And the logo for the company, Real Human Films, was designed by Laura Crescenti.  I love this because it feels lonely in a way, but the color palette is warm and optimistic.  Also, it reminds me a bit of the cover of one of my favorite designers, Christoph Niemann.

The Island Where People Forgot to Die

Ok, so I may be a little death obsessed.  But I think it’s mostly because I’m life obsessed.  The other day I went with a friend of mine to help her dad move into a retirement community; he know has alzheimers and is unable to care for himself.  After having a parent die fairly young (47) I guess I’ve sort become hyper sensitive to the idea of life, and meaning, and lifespan.  So this article which starts earnestly about a man preparing for the end of his life only to find another chapter really resonates with me.  Hope you like it too:

Office machines make a symphony

This is pretty incredible. Heard about it via NPR while stuck in traffic, when they were recapping this post from The Atlantic. Thanks traffic!
